Before you get on an aircraft, you should have the right to review it’s maintenance history. This free database would allow you to connect a flight number to a specific aircraft and its history. Determine how old the plane is, what equipment on the plane is inoperable, etc.
This would also force the airlines to strive for well maintained aircraft.
