I use SeatGuru.com every time I am checking into a flight. SeatGuru provides travelers airline and aircraft specific seat maps with tips on which seats have the most legroom, lack a window, are near bathrooms, etc.
This new service would continuously scan my e-mails and flag any new flight reservation. Extracting the date, airline and flight number, the service would ping SeatGuru and e-mail you a recommendation for the best available seat (also based on personal preferences and current airline frequent flyer status).
A similar service could be used to provide instant recommendations on the best room at the hotel you have just booked(i.e Room77.com).
The big idea is that you don’t even have to visit room77.com or seatguru.com, instead the recommendations would be sent to you instantly based on the e-mail confirmation you receive from the hotel or airline.
