These new smoke detectors would not only sound an alarm when smoke is detected, but would also issue audible alerts to children. Alerts would include information about which exits in the house are safe to use and what to do if they encounter smoke/fire. Multiple detectors would be installed in the home to speak with each other via bluetooth, sharing information about which areas of the home are detecting smoke and heat.
